About the role
Vita is seeking three enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated Scientific Editors to join us and contribute to the launch of our flagship journal. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a brand-new journal, influencing the future of science communication and establishing it as a leading voice that drives discussion and priorities across fundamental biology, as well as basic biomedical and translational research. Job Responsibilities:
1) Under the guidance of the Editor-in-Chief, handle all aspects of manuscript processing, including but not limited to evaluating submissions, managing the peer-review process, and commissioning/editing review articles.
2) Collaborate closely with the Vita editorial family and the global scientific community to advance the journal’s mission.
3) Attend and co-organize conferences and meetings, and visit research institutions to foster professional connections with experts in the field.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1) PhD degree in any area of biology or biomedicine.
2) Genuine passion for science and scientific publishing, with a consistent eagerness to learn more.
3) Broad scientific curiosity and the ability to think critically across diverse research areas.
4) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5) Responsible, proactive, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
6) Previous editorial experience is not required, as full training will be provided. However, candidates with prior editorial experience may be considered for a Senior Editor role.
